PT. Alfabeta Solusi Nusantara (Alfabeta) has officially partnered with PT. Unilever Indonesia Tbk. in a project to procure & implement artificial intelligence-based software. The implementation will begin from the RMS (Raw Material Supply) to the Zara Skin Factory department, which produces skincare and beauty products.
The implementation of artificial intelligence aims at increasing efficiency in logistical activities and reducing human error factors through an automated system that shortens cycle time, as well as data collection that will be used to analyze and further research. Besides that, the implementation of this software will help Unilever in solving everyday problems, such as disagreements with suppliers on the lack of documentation and records of item shipments that allows drivers to relax during shipment of goods, infractions in sterile area, manipulating the clock-in and clock-out time of the suppliers’ shipments due to manual/hand-written records, and scheduling mechanisms in the loading dock areas that has not been implemented perfectly.
The features of the artificial intelligence implemented in PT. Unilever Indonesia Tbk. includes:
Facial and vehicle license plate number recognition to ensure the drivers’ and vehicle’s identity matches the data sent from suppliers.
Dwelling Time Measurement, measuring time spent for loading and unloading to ensure the processes do not overrun the allotted time.
Sterile Area Detection to detect the presence of objects that are not allowed in that particular area.
For Alfabeta, this partnership is a new challenge in serving a multinational company like Unilever, which will strengthen and broaden the business portfolio of Alfabeta. Finally, this partnership aims at strengthening the competency of both parties involved. Partnering with Unilever can be the validation that the technologies developed by Alfabeta can contribute to increasing a company’s performance.
